RECAUSTICIZING OPTIMIZATION
- Is the production of white liquor a "bottleneck" at times? Most systems can be made to produce more white liquor with existing equipment by fine tuning - I have many years experience doing just that and I can help at your mill.
- Is your kiln operation hampered by excessive balls, rings or "growing up"? These conditions usually have their start in recausticizing problems which are sometimes hard to diagnose and correct.
- Are you periodically plagued with "muddy" white liquor? Again this is a problem that can be solved but is sometimes hard to pinpoint - I can help.
- Green liquor dregs can be a problem for the entire lime cycle if not dealt with properly - many ways exist to improve the dregs removal equipment that you are using.
- The workings of the recausticizing system are mysterious to many people that may be quite knowledgeable in other areas of the papermaking process. I have found over the years that even operators in this area are quite often ignorant to a large extent as to why things happen the way they do. The chemical principles that govern the working of this process are easily grasped if presented properly. I can set up a course that will explain, in operator language, how the process works and how the specific equipment used at your mill functions. This knowledge can pay off handsomely by increasing the involvement of your operators in the process.
